Cristina Rubio Semelas

Cristina was born in Madrid in 1997. She studied Biomedical Engineering at CEU San Pablo University and was awarded the Extraordinary End of Career Award in 2020. She spent her last year of her Bachelor's in Oulu, Finland, thanks to the Erasmus scholarship, working on her bachelor thesis developing an optical mouse phantom model for biomedical applications. She gained some professional experience working in Munich as a Junior Engineer at a startup, that is in process of developing software to help cardiologists with procedural planning and pivotal guidance of heart interventions. Currently, she is pursuing her master's with La Caixa scholarship, at the same time that she is interning as an R&D Engineer at the Center for Device Innovation @ Texas Medical Center.
