Academic formation.- Doctor in Geology (Autonomous University of Barcelona 1988); and PhD in Hydrology and Water Resources (University of Arizona 1993). Teaching/research positions.- 1989-2006: Geology Department,Autonomous University of Barcelona. 1990-1992: Fulbright/La Caixa Scholarship, University of Arizona. 2006-present, Environmental Sciences Department, University of Girona. Research interests.- Regional hydrogeology dynamics based on field work, and supported by hydrochemical and isotopic data, and groundwater flow and transport modeling as well, to determine water resources sustainability under human pressures. Project funding.- 7 Spanish government projects (Cicyt, MEC), and 2 Integrated Actions with Italy and Tunisia; all of them as PI. 2 EU Alfa, and 1 EU Marie Curie project. Several projects from the Catalan government, local entities and municipalities and firms. Publications.- Editor of 2 books; book chapters: 24; SCI papers: 29; other papers: 75; contributions to conferences: 120. PhD advising.- 4 dissertations. Memberships and positions.- Catalan Climate Change Experts Group (2005 to present), Hydrology section of the Spanish Commission for Geophysics and Geodesy (2005 to present); Third Vice-President of Tracers in Hydrogeology Commission of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS-IUGG; 2012-2014).
