Stergios Kazakos

Postdoctoral Researcher, Ginebra

Espanya, 2018

Born in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1993. In 2016 obtains a Bachelor Diploma in Physics by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) with a global qualification of excellent. During his undergraduate studies he chooses Nuclear and Particle Physics as a field specialization and focuses his interest on Experimental High Energy Physics. He completes his undergraduate studies with a Bachelor Thesis entitled: "Cross section calculation of WZ dibosons production from their leptonic decays with the method of Maximum Likelihood using the RooFit and RooStats tools of ROOT", with a qualification of excellent with Honors. In 2016 he is admitted to the MSc program in Computational Physics at AUTH and joins the associated ATLAS research group. During the year 2018 he joins the ATLAS group at DESY for one month conducting research on searches for Dark Matter. In 2018 he completes his master studies with a Master Thesis entitled: "Study of the WZ boson pair production in pp collisions at 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector and extraction of the polarisation fractions", with a qualification of excellent with Honors. Currently, he is a PhD candidate at IFAE Barcelona working in the ATLAS experiment.
