Nace en Barcelona en 1970. En 1993 obtiene el título de licenciado en Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales por la Universitat de Barcelona. Durante 1992 y 1993 combina los cursos en la universidad con prácticas en el Departamento de Industria y Energía de la Generalitat de Catalunya, dentro del programa de cooperación educativa EUS. En septiembre de 1994 se incorpora a la University of Chicago para cursar un doctorado en Economía. Desde 2008 es Profesor de Entorno Económico y Análisis de Países en la IE Business School de Madrid. Conoce el alemán, además de la lengua inglesa.
