Nace en Archena (Murcia) en 1972. Es licenciado en Historia y Antropología. Es doctor en Historia Antigua desde el año 2000, con una investigación sobre el escritor hispano-romano del siglo IV San Gregorio de Elbira. Entre 2001 y 2003 es becario en la Universität Bonn, donde prosigue su especialización sobre la Antigüedad Tardía. En la actualidad es profesor de la Universidad de Valencia y miembro del Seminario de Estudios de la Mujer, también de la Universidad de Valencia. Ha publicado varios libros y artículos.
