Licenciado en Filosofía y Ciencias de la Educación, sección de Filosofía, por la Universitat de Barcelona (UB). En septiembre de 1990 se incorpora al departamento de Linguística y Filosofia del Massachusetts Institute of Technology para realizar un doctorado en Filosofía, cuya tesis "Natural Language and Formal Languages" defiende en 1996. Actualmente es profesor titular en el departamento de filosofía de la UB.
