Nace en Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona) en 1977. En el año 1999 se licencia en Sociología por la Universitat de Barcelona (UB). Su tesina obtiene el primer premio del IV Concurso de Jóvenes Sociólogos de la Asociación Catalana de Sociología. En 2000 consigue una beca FPU del Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia e inicia un doctorado en el Departamento de Teoría Sociológica de la UB. Realiza cursos y estancias investigadoras en Koblenz, Oxford, Chania y Berlín. Es miembro del Grupo de Investigación en Ética Económico Social, Ciudadanía y Sociología (GREECS) de la UB y vocal de la Junta Directiva de la Asociación Red Renta Básica. En octubre de 2003 inicia un máster en Sociología en la University of Oxford.
