Nace en Salamanca en 1979. En 2002 obtiene el título de licenciada en Bioquímica por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). Entre 1999 y 2002 colabora con el Departamento de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa (centro mixto CSIC-UAM) en el grupo que dirige la profesora Dra. Jorgina Satrústegui, con una beca del Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia. En 2005 se diploma en Biofísica en la Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, donde lleva a cabo un estudio sobre transporte lipídico en el laboratorio de Biofísica Molecular, dirigido por el profesor Dr. Andreas Herrmann. Desde 2005 realiza una tesis doctoral sobre proteínas transportadoras ABC en el Instituto de Biología Estructural, en Grenoble, bajo la tutela del investigador Dr. Jean-Michel Jault. Así mismo, lleva a cabo tareas docentes en la Universidad Joseph Fourier de Grenoble, en calidad de profesora asociada. Domina los idiomas alemán, inglés y francés.
