María Belén Hípola Ulecia

María Belén Hípola Ulecia was born in Madrid in 1996. She has obtained a double bachelors' degree in Economics & Mathematics and Statistics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2014-2020).  During this time she has researched on economic history with the Complutense Group in Quantitative Economic History. She has also researched on school choice mechanisms for the Economics final dissertation, earning the distinction of the best dissertation of the cohort. While finishing her undergraduate studies, she interned in the Credit Risk Model Validation department at Banco Santander in Madrid. After graduation, she worked as a Fiscal Policy Fellow at FPWA, an anti-poverty organization based in New York City. In 2020, María Belén was awarded the La Caixa fellowship to pursue the Master of Arts in Economics at Columbia University starting Fall 2021. She is interested in applied microeconomics.
