Nace en Madrid en 1974. En 1999 obtiene el título de licenciada en Ciencias Químicas, especialidad Química-Física, con Premio Especial de Fin de Carrera por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Ha realizado el último curso en la Université Pierre-et-Marie Curie (Paris VI), como becaria Erasmus. Durante ese curso colabora con el Departamento de Systèmes Interfaciaux à l'Échelle Nanométrique de la misma universidad y, durante el curso 1999-2000, obtiene un Diplôme d'Études Approfondies en Cinética Química Aplicada y Catálisis, con mención. En diciembre de 2003 finaliza su tesis "Caracterización por métodos físico-químicos de nanopartículas metálicas soportadas en catálisis" en el Instituto Francés del Petróleo y la Université Pierre-et-Marie Curie (Paris VI). Domina las lenguas francesa e inglesa.
