Nace en México, D.F., en 1958, donde obtiene el diploma en el Estudio de Arte Guitarrístico en 1978. Se licencia en Matemáticas por la Universitat de Barcelona en 1983. Desde su licenciatura hasta el inicio de sus estudios en la universidad americana es profesor ayudante en la UB. En 1984 ingresa en la Boston University para la obtención de un doctorado en Matemáticas, grado que obtiene en 1989 con la tesis "Studies in dynamical systems: Collisions and codings". Durante los dos años siguientes es profesor ayudante en la University of Colorado, y en 1991 se incorpora a su ocupación actual como profesor asociado en el Smith College. Su experiencia docente incluye, además, dos años como profesor ayudante en la Boston University. La National Science Foundation le concedió una beca de investigación para el periodo 1994-97.

The goal of the session is to develop your own self-awareness to feel more empowered and secure as a leader. You will also define what leadership means to you and connect with the leader already within you. Through the "Situational Leadership Model" you will learn about your natural leadership tendencies, and how to adjust your leadership style to fit each team member's needs.
