Nace en Madrid en 1969. Tras realizar estudios de primer ciclo, viaja a Estrasburgo (Francia), donde en 1993 obtiene el título de ingeniera química por la École Européenne des Hautes Études des Industries Chimiques de Strasbourg. En el mismo año se licencia en Ciencias Químicas por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. En 1994 obtiene un DEA (Diplôme d'Études Approfondies) en Resonancia Magnética (Química) en la Université Louis Pasteur, en Estrasburgo. Ha realizado diversas prácticas en el extranjero y en diferentes campos, como la Ingeniería Química (Unilever Research, Reino Unido), la Informática (ULP, Francia) y la Investigación Fundamental (Marburgo, Alemania). Conoce el inglés y el alemán, además del francés.
