Raquel Gallego Calderón is Ph.D. in Government and M.Sc. in Public Administration and Public Policy by The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She also got a M.Sc. in Political Science and a Licenciatura in Political Science and Sociology by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). She is Full Professor (Catedrática) of the Department of Political Science and Public Law and Researcher at the Institute of Government and Public Policies (IGOP), both at the UAB. She is the Director of IGOP since 2016. She was coordinator of the Master in Public Management (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona-Universitat de Barcelona-Universitat Pompeu Fabra) between 2001 and 2016. Her research interests include public policy analysis, public management and public administration reform, welfare policies, and decentralization. She has published books, edited volumes, book chapters and articles in journals such as: International Public Management Journal, Governance, Public Administration –An International Quarterly, Public Administration Review, and Public Policy and Administration. She is reviewer and member of the editorial board of several academic journals. She has worked as an international consultant for the Interamerican Development Bank.
