I studied Medicine (1998-2004, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) and trained as a pediatrician (2008-2012, Hospital Clinico San Carlos de Madrid, Universidad Complutense). I have a Masters in in Public Health from Harvard University (2005 La Caixa fellowship), and a PhD from the University of Barcelona, with a thesis focused on childhood tuberculosis (2016, supported by a Rio Hortega grant, Instituto de Salud Carlos III).  I first joined ISGlobal in 2012 as a medical research fellow, and spent 3 years based in Mozambique (Manhiça Health Research Center, CISM) during thesis field work. After a 2 year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Stellenbosch, Desmond Tutu TB Center (2018-2020, grant from the Ramón Areces Foundation), I returned to ISGlobal as an Assistant Research Professor, where I lead several studies focused on pediatric Tuberculosis and HIV.
