Leonardo Tamargo Niebla

Leonardo Tamargo was born in Cuba, studied and practiced architecture in Spain, and eventually settled in the US in order to expand his academic and professional experience.
He holds a Master in Architecture from Universidad de Valladolid, Spain, where he also taught design studio for one year and a half. On the professional side, he has worked for the architecture firms Estudio Herreros, Labpap, and now, Lang Architecture.
In the past, he has designed and professionally worked in projects that had a strong relationship with their context — whether it was an archaeological site, an old factory, a city block, or a beautiful landscape. He has also had a focus on cultural buildings — including museums, art centers, and other institutions — complemented with graduate studies in critical and curatorial practices in architecture at Columbia University, as well as professional experience in exhibition research and design at The Skyscraper Museum, in New York.
